Yes, Northern Bass is an R18 event. A valid form of ID will be required for entry (NZ driver licence, current passport, HANZ 18+ card).

No ID, no entry – it’s a law thing, not a discretion thing.

  • – Have your ticket handy on your phone
  • – ID
  • – Sunscreen
  • – Don’t forget to bring some cash to top up your AWOP chip the first time. You can top up with EFTPOS, but cash is a lot faster (and no signal failures on cash!). Please note that only the AWOP topup stations accept cash – everything else on site requires payment through your AWOP chip.
  • – There will be loads of great food stalls on site, but it is always handy to have some snack foods
    – No more than 6 unopened non-alcoholic drinks (any over and above the limit will be confiscated)
  • – NO GLASS
  • – All your camping gear and a rubbish bag to make it easy to clean up your camping area.

Northern Bass is a licensed premise; so our liquor license means that you won’t be able to bring alcohol into the festival. We have multiple bars on site, including one right by the campground. You are able to take any alcohol bought on site into the campground.

You can bring breakfast and snack foods that do not require cooking, empty or sealed/unopened non-alcoholic drinking containers limited to six per person.

Everyone entering the festival will be subject to a full search. Event organisers will have discretion to confiscate/remove any items entering the venue.

Northern Bass is strictly NO BYO, to any part of the festival, including the car park. Any alcohol will be confiscated.

  • – Everyone entering the festival will be subject to a full search. Event organisers will have discretion to confiscate/remove any items.

Only people who have purchased camping passes will be allowed in the camping area.

Gates open to the campsite at 11am on the 29th and 9am on the 30th and 31st. We will have more info about stage opening times coming soon.

PASSOUTS:
There are no pass-outs from Northern Bass. Once you have entered the festival you cannot leave and re-enter on the same day.

The only exception is for campers staying at the venue for two or three days. Those with a 2 or 3 day camping pass can leave the venue on 30th and 31st December in order to visit the local area/beach etc – you must be out of the venue before 12pm. You will be checked on your return for intoxication and will not be able to enter the venue if intoxicated. You will also be subject to a full search when re-entering the Northern Bass site.

But then… why would you want to leave? We have everything you need on site!

Campervans will not be permitted to re-enter the venue if they leave.

Check out our lineup pages to find out who will be playing this year.

The timetable will be announced closer to the event… keep your eyes on our Facebook page!

There will be multiple bars with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, multiple food stalls and a convenience store.

We will be posting more info about the food and drinks that will be available closer to the event.

AWOP
Like last year, Northern Bass will be a cashless festival. All ticket holders will have an AWOP chip on their wristband. We will have AWOP recharge stations on site, where you can use cash or EFTPOS to recharge your chip.

There is a $5 wristband charge included in the booking fee on each ticket which pays for your AWOP chip. The AWOP chip on your wristband means you won’t need to carry cash around with you on-site, and all the retail locations will be able to serve you faster than ever before. All stall holders, food stalls and the bars will only accept payment from your AWOP chip. You can top up your AWOP chip with all the cash you will need, then any purchases will be deducted as you go. You will be able to refund any unspent credit on your AWOP chip before you leave the festival site, as well as afterwards.

Every year we look for a bunch of the best people to join us on site working or as part of our volunteer Green Team!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more info and for how to apply!

We don’t offer refunds on any tickets – unless the event is cancelled.

If you need to, you can sell your ticket to someone else. Make sure you sell it to them via Ticket Fairy – this way you get your money and they get their ticket sent directly to them.
